The White Stone

This is the first step, and the beginning of the end of one of the processes of the Great Work. The white stone will give birth to the red stone after slowly being digested by heat with white earth (ammonium nitrate).

The key to the whole work is in obtaining the prima materia from its source. I will now give some steps below, please note these aren't detailed steps, just an overview of the process.

1. Obtain the Prime Materia, and freshly distilled water.

2. Mix these two in perfect ...

Dry Distillation of Acetate Salts

Dry distillation of various acetate salts can be performed in order to obtain the Philosophical Mercury needed to extract the essence from gold or other metals. I wanted to say a few things on this issue, and then perhaps ask a few questions.

If copper acetate is distilled, it yields nearly 100% pure blue-tinted radical acetic acid. Now this blue color can be removed via distillation of the acetic acid, but some say this removes its life-force, and thus will be useless in alchemy.

I ...

Hello All,

I'm based in Nottinghamshire UK and have only recently started reading a bit about Alchemy although I actually work in a laboratory.

Got interested in Spagyric medicine when a woman in a shop gave me a book about crystals and their properties and a variety of healing crystals. I have been interested in the infamous Amazonia tribal brew called Ayahuasca and was reading some articles on a forum and by chance hit the links button on the site which lead to a site called Levity ...

Greetings,

It is great to find this forum, as a practicing Alchemist, I definitely feel community is important. I have been on a hermetic (more thothic I suppose), for a year or so. I now work with a media group, Luxor Media, in hope of providing something and playing my part in the modern revival of this wonderful and sacred art, The Great Work.

I am currently still working with herbal spagyrics (calcination being my stage at this time, crushing my ego and attachement), and may begin ...

Hello everyone,

I am working with a group, Luxor Media on a DVD documentary film on Alchemy, called "Alchemy - Sacred Secrets Revealed". The question I pose to peer Alchemists and others here on the forum is this. What are some of the key aspects you felt are/were missing in other productions. We want to give the best view possible to the Alchemist, and portray the truth behind this sacred science.

A tenative trailer has been posted below.

Thanks in advance.

Spiritual Calcination

I call this thread Spiritual Calcination in case there might be threads on Practical Calcination - and I'd like to avoid confusion (although both are two sides of the same coin)!

Calcination is the first step of the alchemical process. The image below is both a funny and truthful description as to what this step is all about:

A dictionary would describe calcination as "refinement by consuming grosser parts, to burn to ashes, and to harden by adding salt." When ...

Freemasonry Symbology

It is my contention that the true occult truths of the highest grades of freemasonry include certain alchemical dogma. The grades in which alchemy dogma is taught in freemasonry starts at the 28th degree and continues until the 33rd degree. The name of the 28th degree is known as "Knight of the Sun, or Prince Adept." This name has an obvious alchemical relation with the sun, and gold.

Spagyrics is pretty basic: seperate the three principles, purify and recombine.

So the trick for each of the three kingdoms is to find out what their principles are.

The plant kingdom is the simplest.

You have one salt that is the primary basic salt of this kingdom - potassium carbonate.

Burn any plant to ashes and the bulk of those ashes will be potassium carbonate.

As for the mercury, it is one thing in each kingdom. For example, all plants have the same mercury - ethyl alcohol.

And ...

I'm excited to actually find a site like this. My name is Knowledge (as in Thoth/Tehuti). I have been practicing, teaching and studying the Hermetic Way for 10 years. It all began with a out of body experience in Dec of 1997....the last confirmation was in Sedona, in Boyant Canyon with a very powerfull tree. I love to study from both the occult and scientic perspective. I lool forward to being able to exchange information with everyone.

Spiritual Chinese Alchemy

When I mentioned chinese alchemy I really meant the kind of fusion of taoism and buddhism (and even confucianism) that has grown out of chinese culture, and been distilled into a form of alchemy which is uncannily (blatantly) analogous to western alchemy.

The best written sources (of strictly taoist alchemy) I've found are The Inner Teachings of Taoism and Understanding Reality, both by Chang Po-Tuan (read in that order), translated by Thomas Cleary.
Ayahuasca Trip

Heres another creation story. Even though its incomplete, as in the tablets having sustained damage, its still a great story and has a few elements which have also appeared in other stories. Unfortunately the first three tablets were not included in the book. I am a Mason with an esoteric and mystical bend, and would love to hear what you guys think. Even if they are simple, I'd like to see how others view this.

The text is very detailed, and includes photos of the laboratory work.

The prima materia for this process is dirt infused with "etheric" energy. It is mingled with morning dew + plant matter to produce a type of black earth. This is used in subsequent operations to extract the essence from gold. The resulting gold elixir is said to be quite powerful, and from what I remember hearing, the author lived to be around 120 ...

Through my life, I can recall very few times I had dreamed and had memories of them. There were also the occasional times when I would wake and felt that I had dreamed though no recollection of them.
Those who have advanced sufficiently far are well aware that Canseliet failed to comprehend the work of his proclaimed master Fulcanellil. At least they worked very differently. We know from the correspondence between Gifreda and Canseliet, that the latter from the beginning worked on G but later (about the time after second world war) suddenly changed his approach and instead started to work upon S. Is it not strange because Canseliet told us that Fulcanelli indeed had confirmed the true identity ...

I call this thread Practical Calcination so there won't be confusion with this thread: Spiritual Calcination

In short it involves heating a substance until it is reduced to ashes. The alchemists create sulfuric acid from a naturally occurring substance called Vitriol. Sulfuric acid reacts with all metals except gold and is a corrosive acid that does great damage to the skin if you might spill some. So be careful!

Vitriol was widely considered the most important alchemical substance, intended ...

Personally I find the use (or misuse) of the word alchemy with reference to these subjects a bit daunting and somewhat disheartening. While alchemy is a difficult maze to work through, I'm often left to wonder who had the impetus to intermingle the alchemical discipline with Tantric practices and at what point this tradition began.
