Cheers
Hi all, I'm new here and new to Alchemy. I've read quite a lot on religion, spirituality and occult theories so that's my background into getting into Alchemy but also personal reasons. I made my first post herehttps://alchemy-forums.forumotion.com/resources-f3/alchemy-revealed-free-ebook-t249.htm#1832 where I posted a question and maybe helpful information as well so please check that. Where I currently stand is that I've ordered few books from Amazon.com and am waiting for their delivery but before that I'm trying to figure out where to start so thats why I'm here
Re: Cheers
Hi spectre, first let me welcome you to our forum!
I'm not sure if you know this, but we have a book review thread in the text section of this forum. Now on your question: personally all the knowledge I have gained, in relation to alchemy, came from the internet and various alchemy texts that are hosted online.
I also had a vast background in the occult, religion, and spirituality in general. This helped a whole lot, and should definitely provide a quality base for your research.

Re: Cheers
Sure, I will do that.
But right now I haven't got them delivered to me yet. Haven't been researching Alchemy too much over the last days except the ebook that I got and was kind of dissatisfied with. I'm still wondering what's the best resource to start learning about physical/laboratory alchemy for someone who's a total newbie.

Book For Starting Practical Alchemy
For someone just getting started in practical Alchemy I can't think of a better book than "The Alchemist's Handbook" by Frater Albertus. He was a modern day alchemist who worked to make the archaic language of alchemy simple to understand, and the alchemical processess simple to perform. In that book he teaches how to make a stone in the vegetable kingdom and then goes on to give information on how that can be related to the stone in the mineral kingdom, otherwise known as the Philosopher's Stone.

Re: Cheers
Book suggestions should really go in the Alchemical Texts forum, and it will also make it easier for those looking for texts/suggestions to find yours. There is also a thread called Book Reviews which can be used.ryanl wrote:For someone just getting started in practical Alchemy I can't think of a better book than "The Alchemist's Handbook" by Frater Albertus.
Re: Cheers
I actually just got "The Alchemist's Handbook" by Frater Albertus in the mail 2 days ago, I am reading it now and will let you know what I think of it next week. Which brings to mind another question; Does anyone have a website they suggest for buying practical Alchemy equipment (one they have ordered from and got good results not just word of mouth please ). I'll go look at the Alchemical Texts now Deviadah thank you for the heads up.

Re: Cheers
Any laboratory grade borosilicate glassware will work fine, and most of our modern chemistry glassware is much better for alchemy process. However, you might want to pick up an old-fashioned retort. I've placed numerous orders from www.unitedglasstech.com with good results, and the glassware is TOP of the line (very high quality).Which brings to mind another question; Does anyone have a website they suggest for buying practical Alchemy equipment ...
