Greetings from South Africa

Post  Necrontyr on Mon Jun 16, 2008 5:30 am

Hi there...

I'm VERY new to Alchemy as a whole. I found the forums this morning (here) after searching for and info on alchemy.

I had a get together with two friends yesterday, and, being very philosophical, we eventually got onto the topic of alchemy. We discussed the matter for several hours, and i'm very interested in learning more on the subject, and getting involved myself.

Hope to get involved with the whole community soon....

Welcome!

I hope you remain active. It's always good to have another newbie around. I started studying the Art only three months ago.

Hi Necrontyr ,

It's very nice to have a member from South Africa! Hope to see you posting in the Practical Alchemy section sometime. Smile

Hey everyone,

Thanks for the warm welcome...

I definitely hope to get stuck into Alchemy soon. It seems to be a very diverse subject, with relevance in most aspects of life...

Does anybody know if there are threads here that they could recommend me reading? Something that explains the very BASICS of Alchemy, the origins, nature of it, and so on?

Many thanks!

I would suggest Dennis Hauck's "Idiot's Guide to Alchemy". He gives a brief history of it, then talks about philosophical and practical alchemy. Other than that, check out the section of the forums regarding Alchemical Texts.

Hi all

Been out of town the past few days... RL is quite a drain on spare time huh?

The "Idiot's Guide to Alchemy"? The title seems to point in EXACTLY the direction i'm looking... I'll also browse the alchemical texts in my spare time. Thanks Israel.
