I recently discovered this new physicist on the scene, Nassim Haramein, who claims to have the unified field theory solved.
While I was listening to an interview with him, I realized, whether he knew it or not, he was speaking about Hermetic philosophy and the Great Work. However, he might very well know this, since he says that he discovered the key through studying ancient texts and monuments.

Here is a preview of his DVD:

And here is the 3-part interview:

Part 2

Part 3

What do you all think?

Yes I've been over this material before in a different spot, it's always good to refresh. I like the concept very much, it sounds very elegant. "The whole universe is spinning and if it stops spinning it explodes!"

Just out of curiosity what parts reminded you of Hermetics and The Great Work? I'm only through part one.

I come from a science background, with major involvement in mathematics and physics, and I have to say this theory is very interesting. I've heard many claims at this point, but in truth nobody has ever completed a proper unified field theory.

I will have to give it a peak sometime later tonight!

I moved it to General Discussions, since it is more of a general topic...

Thanks a bunch for these links... very interesting. I might have to read this book!

By the way LH it is in the third part where you'll see Ng & Hermes etc...

Just out of curiosity what parts reminded you of Hermetics and The Great Work? I'm only through part one.

In the interview alone, I'm not sure what is and what isn't in part 1, but
everything he says about the "doughnut" and the "feedback loop" between
the expansion and the contraction strikes me as having a great deal of
significance in the symbolism of the Ouroboros.

And, I know this is in the 3rd part, what he says about the foundation of
consciousness being in this feedback loop was really exciting! That
consciousness is established through one end looking back at itself is
very Hermetic; I am God experiencing Itself through Itself. We, and
everything else, are all subjective expressions of the same Mind
looking back at itself, so that this Mind may come to know itself
through these "infinite seats of the Monad", or infinite seats of
creation. "It [the unified field theory] starts to describe our
universe as a conscious universe learning about itself".

This "learning about itself" manifests as the universal evolutionary
current: to grow, mature, evolve; to become more fully self-aware; to
awaken to one's True Will, or evolutionary purpose. The Great Work is
consciously engaging in and awakening to this universal process in all
manifest matter. Eventually, the accomplishment of the Great Work leads
to the awareness of the totality of being. Now in the preview, he
alludes to the Great Work, whether consciously or not, when he talks
about accessing the infinite through our own finite being, and that
each center is itself the center of creation.

Plus, in Hermetic philosophy, since time and space is a factor of
creation, the source of creation is outside time and space, hence
creation is ever-present, and is a factor of creation from the Monad. In the 3rd
part of the interview, they talk about how we are in the middle of the
big bang, and how every thing, from every atom to every being to ever
star is its own big bang. How everything is "banging", and we're in the
ever-present "-ang" of it all. That again, each center, each seat of
the monad, each being, each and every atom, is the center of creation.

"God is a circle whose center is everywhere and whose circumference is nowhere"

It brings to mind the Holograhic Universe theory that every part contains the whole!

What the hell!

I've posted about it on other forums, and I might place it HERE since it is deeply interesting.

Ohhhh yess, well I have no problem with the ourourboros or picturing that at all, it has been a very powerful construct for me and I in fact imagine the universe as a round donut shape anyways...perhaps it was from this guy, I often don't recall the names of theories I study and make up my mind on...sort of bites me in the ass when it comes to proofs...

Typical ENTP....

I became severely distracted in the middle of this so I'll have to pick it up some other time...I will finish it...eventually! Tongue
