New Years Celebrations
A new year is soon to come!
So what is everyone planning to do on new years eve?
I'll probably stay home and surf the web like always. Never enough time to research! Although it would be nice if somebody asked me to attend a celebration or something. I never get asked to celebrations...

Heh, you know what that means right?
If she's hot, and if you're single, then you should GO FOR IT! No need of restriction and such.
Of course, if that's not your cup of tea, then so be it!

I am not sure Sleeveless is a male... although you can never know for sure on the Net.BeautifulEvil wrote: If she's hot, and if you're single, then you should GO FOR IT!
I usually go abroad over new years to some Muslim country that doesn't cause such a fuzz over it. I aim to avoid all traditions!
This one I will remain at home though!

Re: New Years Celebrations
Actuallt that is a point... is the new year ringing in, or the old ringing out?
A half empty/full glass kind of conundrum!
I think, for me, the old year is ringing out. I like to concentrate on throwing things away rather than what new crap I will receive!

Re: New Years Celebrations
I tend to be a celebratory type, when the stars align. Halloween, as presented in the preposterous American fashion, is possibly one of my favorites, especially when able to throw oneself in entirety into a role and be treated as such. I spent it as Egon Spengler of the Ghostbusters with four other friends in NYC, and for all intents and purposes, we were those characters, regardless of the quality of our costumes.
The holidays that end up closest to the Solar cycle or the cross-quarter days end up my favorites. The aforementioned Halloween at 15 degrees Scorpio, and New Years belatedly praising the Winter Solstice. Regardless of planned celebration, something ends up happening. Last year, my friend and I did Tarot readings, and ended up sitting in the cold outside of a bar, watching the fireworkds and in general being strange, wizardly types.
This year... we'll see what develops, but I'm hoping for some more high weirdness.

Re: New Years Celebrations
Did everyones plans end up like they were planned?
Personally I had not planned anything and thus I had an uneventful evening alone...

Re: New Years Celebrations
Well, I had an invite to a post-apocalyptic black tie party, and arrived as the only person in costume. It's a little dull being the only brave one in the group. Too much hard liquor, too much smokin' of certain things, and the next morning met me with a horrid coccoon of hallucinations and hangover all in one. Poppin' into other timelines, at least how my mind's eye perceived it, almost constantly, until the headache finally broke at about 2pm EST, leading me to take the best shower in the world. The rest of the day consisted of pho, Superbad, and Twin Peaks. It was an experience, to say the least.

Same here, I went to bed around 12:05 AM. Pretty boring if you ask me...
Gunderic Mollusk, it sounds like you had a great time!
Holy Days
Welcome to the club... but I don't know if we hate them for the same reasons.LadyHydralisk wrote:I hate holidays
Holy Days!
Mass-brainwashing is what it is, spiced up with a little religious dogma!
Re: New Years Celebrations
It's a matter of choice. I tend to enjoy certain holidays, and seem to be with the hoi polloi on the surface, but I'm usually pursuing some other agenda beneath the veneer. I like to see if anyone notices me wearing serpents on St. Patrick's Day.
