I've been contemplating the recent episode and how to balance things in myself and the forum.
I've seen that the rules do not allow for alchemy on all levels.
This forum is for mercurial, jovial and venusian alchemy.
Saturnian and martial alchemy are frowned upon and stamped out.
Fires that occur between two alchemists are soon doused by the administration in an effort to
keep this place "lofty" and "on track".
But there is no alchemy without fire.
There is no spiritual calcination without fire.
Fire that arises between conflicting, opposing, differing viewpoints can be used
to calcine our golden calves/images/idols/egos.

There is no Gurdjieff-ian alchemical transmutation without "shocks".
There is no Gnostic metanoia or initiation without baptism by fire and water.
There is no alchemy without fire, saturn and mars.

In essence, the rules reduce us to armchair philosophers instead of Philosophers by Fire.

I'm not speaking of what we've called practical alchemy, but "practical spiritual alchemy"
or perhaps Jungian alchemy. All things are alchemy. Must we exclude our relationships from alchemy?

If this rings true or seems like an accurate description of what is here, then we should
probably create a space - Tartarus - for working out differences or conflicts.
The present forum needn't change its rules, but a space can be created where the shadow side of alchemy
can be explored.
Remember - the first matter is a vile thing, despised by men.
Let's not be too hasty to do away with ugliness.
Let's give it a proper home.

All alchemy is welcome here!

Especially fire alchemy... but remember that TONE and BODY LANGUAGE can't be seen in posts and therefore FIRE posts can easily be misinterpreted. This is the biggest CON with the internet in general.

There is one little thread you might be able to add to: Fire Circle Alchemy

But if that is not your cup of tea just create others. As long as it is related to alchemy only your mind is your limit...

Just so it is clear:

Alchemy Forums is not against Change!

As long as it benefits the forums bring it on...

And it is not MY alchemy that is law here... I am not some know-it-all... I am learning like everyone else... this is a community effort. But if there is FIRE without respect for other members then that fire will be put out.

I am not saying so and so haven't had respect! I am just speaking in general terms that applies to EVERYONE!

Sounds like a good idea. Tartarus where ideas either prevail, or rot. I'm all for the vile and venom- as long as the attacks are on the ideas and not the person (which can be hard, because alchemy is such a personal thing). It would be easy to have it be all in private, but sometimes certain ideas should be roasted over the coals in front of everyone (again, as long as it is nothing personal- which is where the line gets hazy).
